SOPHAST (3) started at big odds on debut last start but ran a bold race, finishing second and beaten a nose over 5f at Werribee. Likely improver who should go well. LITTLE SPARK (7) made an encouraging debut last time out, finishing 6 lengths from the winner in fifth over 5½f at Sale. Should improve sharply and this looks a nice race. LAYIN' UP (6) is a three-year-old filly who was purchased for AUD $ 40,000 (Magic Millions 2021 Gold Coast National Weanling Sale) and has not been seen on the track in a stall trial trial to date. Top jockey John Allen aboard. Hard to assess, so will pay to keep safe. QUISEEN (8) is a three-year-old filly on debut by Pariah from Change Of Class who has been an outstanding producer including winners at black type level. Has not trialled prior to coming here. Has the aid of a nice alley and should play a big role.
