NOONDAY GUN (1) is looking to improve on a last-start tenth on the flat over 1m5f at Flemington on March 28. Partnered again by Tom Ryan who is building a great record when aboard. Has the right credentials to take this out. RAISE THE NOTE (8) has mixed the disciplines since returning from a lay-off. Unplaced when resuming in a on the flat then finished third last time in a hurdle (2m) at Warrnambool, beaten 23 lengths. Likely to play a major role. PRESSFAL (7) finished third in a in a at Ballarat. Couldn't emulate that effort last time out when he switched to the flat, beaten 8 lengths into eighth over 1m2 1/4f at Mornington. Hard to leave out back over the obstacles. INSTIGATOR (2) is yet to strike a blow in two runs this campaign, both on the flat. Opened with a 11th over 1m2f then finished 9 lengths away over 1m5 1/2f at Stawell 14 days ago. Plenty of improvement anticipated.
