KATSUMI OROCHI (9) drifted well back last start before winding up strongly to finish third, beaten 3 lengths, over 7f at Cranbourne. Blinkers added so the stable might have him peaking. DARKBONEE (8) kept coming only to just miss when fresh from a lay-off as favourite last start over 7f at Warrnambool. Will take a lot from that hitout. Going up a level this time but he deserves his chance. LEGEND BEAST (4) did a little better last start at the second run of the campaign, finishing fourth over 1m at Moe. Capable of further progression. ONLYGOLDWILLDO (10) ran well fresh at Geelong over a touch shorter with improvement to come. Tricky draw but will be fitter and has each way claims.
