AWASH (2) turned in a nice effort last time out at the second run of the campaign and finished just half a length from the winner in second over 1m at Cranbourne after being prominent at the corner. Finds a more suitable contest and can take the next step and salute. NATION'S CALL (1) went fast early and went on to score by 1.75 lengths last time out over 1m at Pakenham. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the key runners. STAR VEGA (3) could only manage eighth when returning from a lay-off last start over 6½f at Bendigo, beaten 2.25 lengths. Excellent record here having never missed the placings in three starts, including two wins and one placing. Must be considered. LADY ADELAIDE (11) turned in a modest performance when seventh last start over 7f at Pakenham, beaten 5 lengths after a good when resuming win at Cranbourne. Expect a better run this time.
