Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last time in work over 5½f at this track. Comes here with definite claims. FORTRESS AUSTRALIA (7) pushed forward from a wide draw last time and found the front, leading around the bend but capitulating to finish tenth over 6½f at Townsville. Has never missed the frame at this venue, including two wins. Expected to run well. MASTER MONTARO (1) has not won for a long while. Last raced on August 12 when beaten 7 lengths into eighth at Mackay over 6f after being in contention on the turn. Placed to advantage so expect a better run this time.
