OFF THE PRESS (2) made a strong late bid but just failed to pick up the winner last start over 6¼f at Canterbury. Has race fitness on his side now. Faces an easier assignment so he is one of the primary contenders. URAFIKI (5) was comfortably accounted for when 12th last start over 6½f at Randwick, beaten 14 lengths. That followed a good when resuming win at Moruya. Has the class to take this out. ME ME (9) finished third last start over 6f at Kembla Grange when she made late ground, beaten 4 lengths. Meets a stronger field but she is good enough to take this out. PESCHIERA (6) returned from a lay-off three weeks ago when she was prominent at the corner before being beaten 2. 5 lengths into seventh over 6¼f at Canterbury. Fitter and sure to run well.
