MARBLE ARCH (3) was allowed to drift back from a wide draw last time out then found the line strongly to grab second over 1m at Caulfield. Should go well again. Group 3 placegetter GATES (6) is a handy type who resumes after a break of four months. At his last appearance he finished seventh over 1m4 1/2f in the G1 Victoria Derby at Flemington, beaten 8 lengths. Has won when fresh from a lay-off in the past. Will drift back but wind up late. Leading contender. MAGARTEN (9) was impressive last time at this track, scoring by 2 lengths over this trip. Has been in super form this campaign, finishing in the money at each of his four starts. Has to be respected. EL ROCKO (5) turned in another moderate effort last start when 3 lengths from the winner in fifth over 7f at Morphettville Parks. Well placed and can figure in the finish this time.
