BENTLEY BROOK (4) produced a reasonable effort when second last start over 5f at Canberra, beaten 1.5 lengths. That followed a win at Goulburn the start prior. Must raise the bar but this looks well within his grasp. VADERZAN (10) finished out of the money but was not too far away when resuming last start over 5f at Canberra. Usually performs well with that run under his belt. Will appreciate the drop in grade. Leading contender. LYSANDER (5) is returning from a lay-off of four months. Finished fifth at Gosford over 6f at the first run last prep. Now with a new trainer Natalie Jarvis. Will be fit enough for this following a recent trial win. Comes here with definite top-three claims. STARLIV (9) turned in a nice effort to score two runs ago but was not as effective last time out when seventh over 6f at Canberra, beaten 7 lengths. Finds a suitable race and can run a bold race.
