MARBASTION (4) ran below expectations last time at Werribee, finishing tenth and beaten 4.5 lengths starting at 6/1. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is right in contention. ELATION AND JOY (7) registered her first win last start over 1m at Hamilton, getting home by 0.8 lengths. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. E Walsh was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. Capable of making it two on the trot. YORKEL (2) started at 11/4 last time and ran below expectations, finishing sixth and beaten 2 lengths at Seymour over 1m after being prominent at the bend. Facing a tougher assignment but he is capable of running a bold race. PURLER PATCH (5) has been in the market at his last couple of runs but failed to threaten, the latest effort a modest ninth at Geelong over 6½f. Top-three prospects.
