RICH CHAMPAGNE (5) finished 2.75 lengths away in eighth last time out over 1m at Ararat when resuming from a lay-off. Steps up in journey. Meets a tougher line-up this time but he should run well. SON OF A BOOM (8) was out of the money on debut two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m at Wagga, beaten 6 lengths into fourth. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. HIGHLAND MIRAGE (2) ran very well when resuming then drifted back and was never a factor last time, beaten 16 lengths into 11th over 1m at Pakenham. One of the chances based on his best recent efforts. OFFCAST (10) made progress last time out, finishing 9 lengths from the winner in third over 1m1 1/4f at Terang. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role.
