BILLY THE BRUTE (2) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't feature last start when 13 lengths away in sixth over 1m at Colac. Will enjoy a drop in class so he is sure to be prominent. SAINT WINIFRED (9) is yet to break through in 11 runs but wasn't far away last time when second over 1m1 3/4f at this track on February 8. Among the top chances. SMARTSET (4) was in the money two starts back at Benalla then missed the frame but was not too far away last time over 1m2f at Wangaratta. Has the pace to be thereabouts early. Well placed here and among the winning hopes. DEELER (1) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m at Werribee, beaten 3 lengths into fifth. No surprise to see him in the frame.
