SHADOW SHOT (8) travelled in a rearwards position then made some inroads and finished 6 lengths away in fifth last time out over 1m2 1/2f at Beaumont (Newcastle) two-and-a-half weeks ago. Steps up in distance. Will find this a little easier than last time. Should be in the finish. BLUE GUITAR (4) made progress last time out, finishing 3 lengths from the winner in third at the end of 1m2f at Mudgee after being prominent at the turn. Steps up a level but he is worth serious consideration. KARAOKE KING (5) finished fourth two runs back at Coonamble then improved last time out to score by 2.5 lengths after being prominent at the bend over 1m3f at Dubbo. Facing a tougher assignment but he is good enough to cope. WEAVE THAT WEB (1) improved sharply last time out to score by 2 lengths over 1m2f at Mudgee a week-and-a-half ago. Solid top-three prospects.
