Group 3 placegetter EMPRESS OF WONDER (10) was too good for a maiden field last start over 6f at Newcastle, scoring by half a length. Progressing well so worth following up. PANGAEA (20) turned in a solid when resuming effort at Gold Coast Poly then wasn't beaten all that far last time when eighth at Eagle Farm over 6f. Finds an easier assignment and can get the job done. HEARSAY (16) was well in commission when resuming last start over 6f at Beaudesert but could only manage fifth, although only 2 lengths from the winner. Solid top-three chance. SCUD (18) finished third last time over 6f at Kilcoy, beaten one length. Will trim down following recent racing. Placed to advantage and can run a bold race.
