Race Tip

PIONEER SQUARE (8) has filled a minor placing at both runs to date, the latest when beaten 3 lengths into second over 7f at this track. Likely to push forward and race on the pace. Among the leading chances. ONE MORE STAR (2) was well in the market last time and made it two minor placings from as many runs this prep when 4 lengths away in third over 7f at this track. Among the major players. OBSIDIAN (7) finished third, beaten 4.5 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 1m at Turffontein Inside. It doesn't get any easier but he is capable of a big performance. THE ULTIMATE KING (9) is a three-year-old colt by leading Vercingetorix who was purchased for ZAR R 325,000 (Bloodstock South Africa 2023 National Yearling Sale). Hard to assess, so will pay to keep safe.
