OLD GOLD (5) hasn’t been far away since a maiden win three runs back, the latest effort a second over 5f at this track on December 28. Should be prominent from the outset. Best figures should see him run well. SUPER TWENTY THREE (3) hit the frame two starts ago at this track but ran below par last time when eighth and beaten 2. 5 lengths over 6f at this track. Nicely placed to turn things around. PARCH (2) is a four-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Steven Royes barn. Finished off last campaign with a tenth at Kilmore 12 weeks ago. Hasn't trialled publicly but looks well placed. Among the leading chances. SPINELESS (11) has progressed nicely in her last couple of runs. Finished third at Mackay two starts back then got the job done by 1. 2 lengths last time out over 4½f at Mareeba. Likely to be in the finish again.
