TIERGARTEN (5) fought on for third last start over 1m at this track (Turf) when she came with a powerful finish, making it two minor placings in a row. Generally takes a sit but the draw makes it tricky. Finds a suitable assignment and can take the next step and salute. PROFESSORS' PRIDE (1) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 9 lengths when fifth over 6½f at Los Alamitos two months ago. This is a nice drop in grade so she is sure to be prominent. SMILING LADY (2) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m at this track, beaten 18 lengths into seventh. The engagement of Armando Ayuso is a positive move.
