MERRIGOLD (4) ran below expectations last time after being in contention on the turn at Pakenham, finishing tenth and beaten 10 lengths starting at 13/2. Meeting a deeper field this time but she has the ability to mix it with them. NOVA LIGHTS (6) was in a different class last time with a dominant all-the-way win by 6 lengths at Bendigo over 7f. Expected to take some stopping again. SIMPLICITY (11) finished out of the money two starts back then she was always well out of her ground and was beaten 1.5 lengths when fifth over 6f at Caulfield Heath three weeks ago. Nicely placed to get the prize. SPIRIT OF NURAI (5) has not raced since she finished ninth over 6f at Caulfield on July 22. Serious threat.
