TRAVOLTA (17) was in the firing line all the way and fought on for third last start over 1m3 1/2f in the G3 Newcastle Cup, making it two minor placings in a row. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is right in contention. BIRDMAN (7) got home by a nose last time out over 1m2f in the G3 Kingston Town Stakes at this track. Has a decent record at this track with one win and two minor placings. Stiffer assignment here but is expected to be in the finish. FLYING BANDIT (16) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when fourth, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 1m1 1/2f at Rosehill after he travelled towards the rear of the field. Has a solid record at the third run in and is sure to be about the mark. SOUL OF SPAIN (9) scored last start in the G3 Newcastle Cup to make it three wins from three starts this campaign. Goes up a notch this time but is among the better hopes.
