Finished fifth when fresh from a lay-off two starts back at Tamworth then improved and scored as favourite over 7f at Scone two weeks ago, getting home by 2.25 lengths after being in contention on the corner. Steps up a level but he is worth serious consideration. GALLANT STAR (1) recorded an all-the-way win last time out by 4 lengths over this journey at Coonamble. Strong performer at this stage of the prep with two wins and one minor placings from four runs. Has a strong association with Jason Collett who has been in the saddle for his last two wins. Sure to play a big role. INTERVARSITY (14) was quickly into stride and went on to score by 0.9 lengths when resuming last time out over 7f at Tamworth. Should be prominent again from the low draw.
