WALTHAM (7) came from well back on the bend and hit the line strongly to score over 1m4f at Gold Coast last time out. Tougher assignment this time but he is right in this. BIRDMAN (12) produced a good run two starts back to finish second but disappointed last time when out of the placings in the G3 NE Manion Cup at Rosehill over 1m4f after he was in contention on the corner. Meets a stronger field but he is good enough to take this out. ATHABASCAN (2) is coming off a last-start second, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 1m4f at Rosehill. Worth plenty of thought.
