ABLE WILLIE (2) returned from a lay-off last start with a strong win by half a length over 6f at Warwick Farm. Open to plenty of improvement and is all set to make it two-for-two this prep. BALLROOM BELLA (3) was thereabouts last time out when third in the LR Fireball Stakes at Randwick over 5½f, beaten 0.9 lengths. Cherry-ripe now. Commendable record at this trip with a win and three minor placings and looks a top chance. BIOGRAPHER (8) was in the firing line on the bend and finished third last time over 5f at Warwick Farm when resuming from a lay-off, beaten 2.25 lengths. Likely improver with strong prospects. PORTRAY (4) Group 3 placegetter. Was in the firing line on the bend and finished second last start at the first run back from a lay-off over 5½f at this track, beaten 0.7 lengths. Has started two times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Nicely placed to go one better.
