EAoard,U DE COLOGNE (4) was well in commission last time out but could only manage to finish eighth over 1m3f at Ballarat Synthetic in a disappointing performance. Nicely placed to bounce back. BUTTERSCOTCH (3) was an effortless maiden winner when resuming last time out over 7f at this track, scoring by 2. 25 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Luke Nolen was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the mount. Big chance to go back-to-back. BOGUES (2) is returning from a lay-off of three-and-a-half months. Finished seventh at Caulfield Heath over 7½f at the first run last prep. Now with a new trainer Reece Goodwin. Ran fourth in a trial at Pakenham Synthetic over 5f recently. One of the genuine hopes in the race. LADY ELSA (6) was unplaced two runs back when fresh from a lay-off then again missed the frame last start over 1m at this track, beaten 2. 75 lengths into sixth. Nicely placed to find some form.
