MERCANTE (4) gets out over more ground. On the back of some solid form of late, the most recent effort a second over 1m3f at sale. Missed the frame at his only try at this trip. Must respect the stable decision to remove the blinkers. Major player. LEGATUS (2) turned in a modest performance when ninth last time out over 1m7f at Moonee Valley, beaten 18 lengths. That followed a win at Werribee at the previous outing. Finds an easier assignment and can get the job done. TSITSIPAS (6) faded last time to finish tenth over 1m2f at Seymour after showing good early speed. Not to be underestimated.
