GRAND SAGE (2) finished 1.3 lengths away in third last time out at Sale. On a nine-day back-up. Good effort last start and should prove tough to beat. SHEZAVIXEN (5) comes here off a break of 11 weeks. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 1m at Bairnsdale. Capable of playing a major role. MAKDANE (4) finished third at Cranbourne two runs back but was less effective last time over 1m at Pakenham, finishing 4.5 lengths back in seventh. This is a nice drop in grade so he is set to turn things around. DEMIQUAVER (7) was far from disgraced when fifth last start over 7f at Pakenham. That followed a win at Cranbourne the start prior. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time.
