BLACK PEPPERMINT (1) was 11 lengths from the winner in sixth over 1m1/2f at Warrnambool last time following a minor placing on debut the run before. Rates highly on debut effort and should go well. CHELMSFORD (2) failed to figure again last time over 1m5 1/2f at Werribee, beaten 9 lengths into eighth. Will appreciate the drop in grade. Well placed so expecting a strong run. TOSEN SNOWFALL (12) finished 0.7 lengths away in third last time out at Stawell. On a six-day back-up. Good effort last start and is a leading contender. SHOGUN EXPRESS (7) finished fifth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1m2f at this track, beaten 2.25 lengths. Looks to be in the right race so he should be in contention again.
