GONCALO (13) did little and finished 6 lengths from the winner in eighth over 7½f at Innisfail last start after being in contention on the turn, a less impressive effort than his sixth at Townsville the run before. Taking on a better line-up this time but he is good enough to play a major role. SAVVY THINKER (8) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m2f at Townsville, beaten 6 lengths into tenth after being in the firing line on the turn. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. BATEMANS BAY (2) finished second at Rockhampton two runs back but was less effective last time over 1m at Rockhampton, finishing 4 lengths back in sixth. Nicely placed to make amends. ECLIPSION (5) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing tenth at Townsville over 1m after he was well back on straightening. Placed to advantage so expect a bold run.
