PHOENICIAN (4) wasn't far away last time and is edging towards a win, the latest effort a solid third over 1m4f at Moe. Should camp just off the leaders. Sure to be in the finish. THREE REEL ROSES (10) found the line nicely to grab second last time out over 1m at Echuca. Likely to feature. MAKUSHA (3) was in the money two starts back at this track but couldn't back it up last time when eighth, beaten 8 lengths, at Donald over 1m3f after being in the firing line on the bend. Jake Noonan gets the best out of this six-year-old gelding. Tackling a more suitable race this time so he is one of the main contenders. AVONVIEW (9) raced on the pace last start and lifted strongly to hold second, beaten 1. 3 lengths, over this journey at this track. Nicely placed to take this out.
