CRYPTIC VERSE (11) has experienced mixed fortunes this prep. Went well to finish third, beaten 0.6 lengths, two runs ago when resuming over 6f at Warwick then failed to compelte the course last time out at Eagle Farm. All set to return to form. ANNAKURI (15) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 2 lengths when eighth in a 6f contest at Warwick two weeks ago after being in contention on the corner. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. TOO MUCH MAKEUP (9) missed the placings two runs back then didn't feature last start when 5 lengths away in sixth over 6¾f at Ipswich after being prominent at the corner. Finds a more suitable contest and can get the job done. ALPINE LADY (6) is a four-year-old mare who is having her first run for the Paul Shailer yard. Finished off last campaign with a eighth at Moruya ten months ago. Ran sixth in a trial at Gold Coast Poly over 5¼f and looks nicely placed. Can run a bold race.
