DEEP FOCUS (5) is overdue for a win with two recent placings, the latest finishing second over 1m at this track, and is down in the weights this time. Rates strongly and looks one of the leading hopes. APUNTAR (2) was in the firing line on the corner and finished second last start over 6¾f at Doomben, beaten half a length. Placed to advantage so expect a forward showing. SAN GABRIEL (6) got off the mark over 1m at Gosford last start, scoring by 0.8 lengths. This is tougher but he cannot be underestimated.
