MACONDA (14) resumed from a lay-off last start with a sound second over 6f at Gold Coast after being in the firing line on the turn. Must raise the bar but a big run will not surprise. BETTER DRAW (1) wasn't beaten far over 6f at Sunshine Coast on debut last start and may appreciate the longer journey. Worth including. LARIDAE (5) finished sixth two runs back then did well last start but found a couple better over 6¾f at Doomben, beaten only 1.75 lengths. This looks a good race for him so another forward showing looks likely.
