MACOCHA (12) was handy in the run last time out before fading late to finish 6 lengths away in sixth over this trip at Sandown-Lakeside. Better than last start and worth another chance. LOVEY (11) was out of the money when resuming two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 5½f at Bendigo, beaten 3.5 lengths into fourth. This doesn't look as hard so she is one of the main contenders. GUERITE (9) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 6f at Warrnambool when second, beaten 9 lengths. Tricky draw to overcome but she should be in the finish. OLD MATE BLUEY (16) didn't do a lot on debut a week-and-a-half ago, finishing 17 lengths from the winner in 12th over 6f at Warrnambool. Open to plenty of improvement. One of the hopes.
