XARPO (12) did her best work late and finished one length from the winner in fourth last start over 6f38yards at Geelong, an improvement on her fifth on debut at Kilmore the run before. Ideally placed and is sure to play a major role. CALIFORNIA FLYER (9) missed the placings on debut then improved last start but found a couple better over 6f22yards at Geelong, beaten 1.5 lengths after being prominent at the corner. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. TUSCANADO (11) missed the placings on debut two runs back then didn't feature last start when 6 lengths away in 11th over 6¾f at Donald. Likely improver with strong prospects. KNIGHT ON THE ICE (5) finished out of the money on debut two starts back then was beaten 4 lengths when sixth in a 6f contest at Moe three weeks ago. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways.
