NANKEEN (3) stuck on well last start to finish second over 4½f at Mt Gambier after showing good early speed. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is right in contention. FRANCINE (4) did little and finished 8 lengths from the winner in 14th over 6f at Geelong last start after being in contention on the corner, a less impressive effort than her seventh at Ballarat Synthetic the run before. Finds a nice race and can play a significant role. PEINTRE'S PRIDE (10) is experiencing a long win drought, extended last start when fifth over 5½f at Wodonga after being in contention on the bend. Placed to advantage and can make amends. LOVE 'N' RUN (8) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 21 lengths away in 13th over 6½f at Geelong. Suitably placed so can turn things around.
