GUSTY WAY (1) finished 2 lengths away in fourth last time out over 6f at Warracknabeal after being in contention on the corner two weeks ago as 7/2 favourite. Steps up in distance. Has a decent record at this trip with three minor placings from four tries and is right in this. DUDANCE (10) was sent out at 14/1 last time but ran above expectations and won over 5½f at Kilmore. Strong chance again. SHOOTER MCGAVIN (2) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7f at Bendigo, beaten 5 lengths into sixth after being in the firing line on the bend. Nicely placed to take this out. . Turned in a better run last time when second, beaten 1.75 lengths, at Mt Gambier over 6½f. Looms as a genuine contender.
