Faces an easier assignment so he is likely to play a big role. BALKANS (3) settled well back from a wide draw last time then wound up strongly to finish fourth over 5½f at Randwick. Expected to measure up. WAVE BREAKER (8) drifted well back last start before storming home to score by 1. 1 lengths over 5f at Scone. Winning hope here. APEX (5) returns from a layoff of four-and-a-half months. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last time in work over 5½f at this track. Worth plenty of thought.
