OCEAN EMPRESS (8) is a maiden galloper who hasn't raced since finishing 4. 5 lengths back in fifth over 5f at this track four-and-a-half months ago. Fitter for two trials, placing most recently. Expect a bold showing. STEP QUICK (5) last appeared when he finished fifth over 4½f at Albury on October 25. Comes here with definite claims. OVER THE LIMIT (1) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found one better over 5f at this track, beaten only 1. 75 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. DON'T WHAT ME (3) is a three-start maiden who resumed from a lay-off last start and was beaten 5 lengths when fifth over 5¾f at Beaumont (Newcastle). Should progress from that last outing and poses a genuine threat.
