ELLIE'S DREAM (1) has been thereabouts recently, the latest result a fourth beaten 1.3 lengths at Townsville over 7f. Will drift back but wind up late. Will prove hard to hold out. RECRUITER (3) was in the money two starts back at Goulburn but was unable to repeat the effort last time when seventh, beaten 4 lengths, at Canterbury over 5½f after being prominent at the bend. Finds a more suitable contest and can find winning form. PELSAERT (2) comes here off a break of 11 weeks. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last time in work over 6f at Townsville. Makes plenty of appeal. THE COPS (6) got off the mark over 6¼f at this track last start, scoring by half a length. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Graham Kliese was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. Tougher assignment this time but is one of the main contenders.
