TALONS (3) hasn't been too far away of late, the latest effort a fifth, beaten 2.5 lengths, at Townsville over 7f. Racing well without winning and looks a genuine threat. CANDLELIT (1) got home by a long neck last time out over 7½f at this track. Has a decent record at this track with one win and two minor placings. Can go on with it. SAVEE (6) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 4 lengths away in seventh over 7f at Townsville. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
