MATRIARCH ROSE (12) was beaten for early speed and didn't come into contention when a disappointing seventh over 7f at Caulfield most recently. This doesn't look as hard so she is likely to play a big role. GOT SOCKS (7) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when 12th, beaten 7 lengths, over 6½f at Bendigo after he got a long way back. Untried at this journey but strips fitter and is ready to show what he can do. BOB THE HORSE (6) turned in a nice effort to score two runs ago at Pakenham. Couldn't follow that up last time out when fourth over 1m at Pakenham, beaten 5 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role. WISE LEGEND (13) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing fifth at this track over 1m2f. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is right in contention.
