BIG DAY OUT (4) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he was always well out of his ground over 6f at Wagga, beaten 4 lengths into 13th. Beautifully placed and is sure to take plenty of stopping. VAINSTREAM (12) is returning from a lay-off of ten weeks. Finished eighth at Canterbury over 5½f at the first run last prep. Now with a new trainer Todd Smart. Fitter for a minor placing in a recent Canberra trial. Has ability and should be right in the finish. SMUGGLER'S BAY (5) raced on the pace to the bend before fading to finish seventh, beaten 4 lengths, over this journey at Cranbourne. One of the main contenders. SHEILA (11) produced another moderate effort last start when 6 lengths from the winner in seventh over 5f at Cranbourne. Has her share of talent and is a top-three prospect.
