Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Stuttgart have occupied the top three positions for the entirety of the season so far.
Saturday evening sees the black and yellow make the tricky trip to face a Werder Bremen side scrapping for points to make the top six.
Ole Werner’s team haven’t played in Europe since the 2006/07 season and will be looking to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat suffered against Hoffenheim.
On the other hand, Dortmund beat Union Berlin away from home but like their hosts, they’ve won just one of their last four.
Bremen have been inconsistent at home, beating Augsburg and Freiburg, drawing with fifth-placed RB Leipzig but losing to Darmstadt and Heidenheim.
Despite their poor form, Dortmund are unbeaten in their last four away games. Their last defeat on their travels came against Stuttgart in November.
Edin Terzic’s side won the reverse fixture 1-0 earlier this season to extend their winning run against Werder to three matches. Bremen haven’t beaten Dortmund at home since December 2014.
