Sassuolo vs Napoli tips and predictions: Nothing to seperate Serie A's surprise strugglers

With no wins in their last six Serie A games, the hosts are in a poor state of form. If things don't improve soon, they could be left with the threat of relegation.

Alessio Dionisi’s side was tipped for a comfortable mid-table finish before the season began but they’re currently level with Cagliari and Verona who are in the relegation zone.

Things took a turn for the worse in game week 14 when they were beaten by Roma and lost three more on the spin. Despite beating Fiorentina, they’re otherwise winless in 2024.

On the other hand, Napoli are also below par as they struggle to keep in touch with the top four. They sit 11 points behind Bologna and need a near-perfect finish to the season.

Napoli are on their third coach of the season as former assistant Francesco Calzona is now at the helm, but that’s done little to improve their form.

They were extremely fortunate to draw with Barcelona in the Champions League and couldn’t beat strugglers Cagaliari in the previous round of Serie A matches.

Napoli have dominated the head-to-head meetings with four consecutive wins including a 2-0 victory earlier this season. Sassuolo’s last win against Napoli came in 2020.
