PSG vs Real Sociedad tips and predictions: French Champions to shut out Spaniards in comfortable win

Paris Saint-Germain received a fortuitous draw following the conclusion of the group stage and will host Real Sociedad on Wednesday.

However, the French champions made an underwhelming start in the Champions League but still advanced from the group stage.

Borussia Dortmund won the group after Luis Enrique’s side failed to win any of their last three group games, qualifying thanks to their head-to-head results against AC Milan.

Since losing 2-1 at Milan at the San Siro, the French side have found some consistent form.

PSG’s 3-1 win against Lille at the weekend should mean the Ligue 1 title is already wrapped up with a massive 11-point gap in their favour.

Real Sociedad performed excellently to win a tough group featuring Inter Milan, Benfica and Red Bull Salzburg in 2023. The Spanish side finished the group stage unbeaten.

Despite that, they’re struggling in La Liga, occupying seventh and sitting 11 points adrift of the Champions League places. 

Since beating Celta Vigo 2-1 in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, Sociedad played out three consecutive 0-0 draws before losing 1-0 to Osasuna, so they’re struggling for goals. 

There’s little chance they’ll be able to shut PSG out at Parc des Princes, so they look to be in a perilous position heading into the first leg.
