Gunners thrash West Brom in the EFL Cup, while Newcastle go out on penalties to Burnley...but didn’t lose, okay?

SOCCER: Arsenal beat a weakened West Brom 6-0 on Wednesday night to progress in the EFL Cup and ease the pressure on Mikel Arteta. Twitter traffic was down by about 80%. That was, however, until Newcastle bowed out of the competition on penalties to Burnley.

SOCCER: All's now well in Arsenal World now, though - they've scored an elaborate goal.
