Welsh Open 2025: Free tips, odds and predictions as Kyren Wilson looks for Masters revenge

The final Home Nations Series event is upon us as some of the biggest names in snooker descend onto Llandudno for the 2025 Welsh Open.
Gary Wilson arrives as the defending champion having toppled Martin O’Donnell 9-4 in last year's final.
Wilson claimed £80,000 for winning the event and the incentive is even bigger on this occasion with £100,000 at stake for the winner.
World number one Judd Trump would have been one of the top contenders for the title, however the two-time finalist has decided to withdraw and focus on other events.
Here, we take a closer look at the tournament and pick out some of the best bets along the way.
2025 Welsh Open tips
Kyren Wilson to win
Shaun Murphy to reach the quarter-finals
Ronnie O’Sullivan is evidently a big fan of the Welsh Open having lifted the trophy four times. The only man to top that total is John Higgins who has triumphed on five ocassions.
Ronnie will undoubtedly be one of the contenders for the title – the only question is whether he’ll actually turn up.
The Rocket has withdrawn from six of the previous eight ranking events and also went missing for the recent edition of the Masters.
His last big appearance came at the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship where he reached the semi-final.
Unlike Ronnie, Higgins did compete at the Masters but went out in the very first round. The Scot also went out in the second round of his last two ranking events.
Speaking of the Masters, returning champion Shaun Murphy will arrive in Wales with a fresh wave of confidence.
The Magician defeated Kyren Wilson to claim his second Masters crown last month and he will be one of the top contenders to go all the way in Llandudno.
Murphy has reached a smattering of ranking quarter-finals this season and will be eyeing up his first Welsh Open title since 2020.
If you’re pushing us for a tip, we have to side with the Masters runner-up Wilson.
The 33-year-old has won three ranking events this season – including the German Masters last time out.
Wilson also reached the Championship League Invitational final recent and is the man in form. With that in mind, we’re backing Wilson to go all the way.
