Luke Humphries kisses the 2024 World Darts Championship trophy

On to Leeds for Premier League Night 14 and Whites supporter Luke Humphries will be aiming to continue the city's celebrations on Thursday, May 8.

Leeds is technically Humphries hometown crowd, even though he's originally from Berkshire, but he's been supporting the club since he were t'lad as his family are all die-hard fans.

In last year's Premier League in Leeds, Humphries won the night beating Michael van Gerwen 6-5 in the final, and we are backing him to be triumphant again, especially as his average for this campaign is around a hundred.

Van Gerwen stands in his way at the quarter-final stage on Thursday night, but Humphries has the edge in recent meetings winning two of the last three.

The Dutchman is going through an inconsistent patch, reaching the Premier League 13 final and losing to Luke Littler and then going out of the European Darts Grand Prix to Dirk Van Duijvenbode with a miserable 89.52 average in the round of 32.

Chris Dobey or Stephen Bunting would be next up in the semi-final and Humphries should have enough to breeze past the Premier League basement dwellers. He's beaten Dobey three out of four times in the Premier League this season and is 2-2 with Bunting.

Littler could be lying in wait in the final and stats would suggest that he should extend his record-breaking victory run in the Premier League to six.

Littler is 3-2 up in head-to-heads in the Premier League this season, including beating Humphries in two finals and losing one. He also should be fresh after swerving the European Darts Grand Prix in Germany last weekend.

But with already qualified Littler perhaps going through the motions, this is where the home crowd and goodwill flowing through the city could drag Humphries over the line on Thursday night. Although without the big clean-up in the streets after the final.

Other tips that are worth considering for the night are the Southampton v Leicester clash at the bottom between Dobey and Bunting.

Bunting recent resurgence has tailed off with two consecutive quarter-final defeats. He's also lost the last three matches with Dobey. 6-2 twice in the Premier League and 10-6 at the UK Open in February.

For the third leg of the bet builder we stay at the quarter-final stage, this time in the Aspinall against Littler clash.

No secret but Aspinall hates facing Littler. He's lost the last ten matches they've played, last beating the world champion in the Premier League in March 2024.

Littler has hit the most 180s in all of his last six matches against Aspinall, and is a solid bet to do it again as it's much better value than a straight win.

Premier League Darts Night 14 tips

Humphries to win Night 14 – 7/2

Littler most 180s v Aspinall - 8/15

Dobey to beat Bunting – 11/10
