PGA Championship 2025 betting tips: Predictions and best bets from the UK's top tipsters
Xander Schaufelle
The second major of 2025 is upon us as the world's best golfers head to Quail Hollow in North Carolina for the 107th PGA Championship. Can the UK's top tipsters find you some winning selections?
With the 2025 Masters already in his back pocket, all eyes will be on Rory McIlroy to follow up with back-to-back majors in Charlotte this coming weekend.
Xander Schauffele won last year's US PGA Championship after carding a final round of 65 at Valhalla to hold off the challenges of Bryson DeChambeau and Viktor Hovland in record-breaking low score of 21 under par.
All four are among the 156 players who will be battling it out once again for major glory and here we've cast our net over some of the UK's best golf tipsters to find some potentially winning bets.

Planet Sport PGA Championship tips
Rory McIlory - 9/2 (e/w)
Second favourite Rory McIlory loves this Quail Hollow course, he's won a record four Wells Fargo Championship titles (now the Truist) here and holds the course record of 61, which he set in 2015.
His last victory here came in 2024, where he finished five strokes ahead of Xander Schauffele. However, a course renovation before the PGA Championship in 2017 saw McIlroy finish down the field T22.
After the Masters, McIlroy finished T12 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and T7 at the Truist Championship last weekend.
Wyndham Clark - 100/1 (e/w)
Wyndham Clark won the Wells Fargo Championship here in 2023, again ahead of Schauffele, this time by four strokes.
He's a big driver off the tee which suits this course and likes the Bermuda grass they use at Quail Hollow.
However, he's not been in great nick this season. A tied fifth his best performance this year so far at the Houston Open. He was T63 at the Truist Championship last week and missed the cut at Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
We are also going to turn a blind eye to Clark missing the cut at the PGA Championship after posting a score of 4 over.
But his 100/1 price could be a bit of each-way value at a course he's had success on.
Bryson DeChambeau - first round leader - 18/1
US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau picked up his first win of the season last week capturing the LIV Golf Korea, and his big appeal here is with his driving distance.
DeChambeau has finished ninth and fourth on his last two starts at Quail Hollow, although we are slightly wary of his wobble in the final round at the Masters.
He was T5 after the first round of the Masters, then second the following two days. So backing him to lead in the first couple of rounds might be a better strategy to collect a bigger price.

Outright Winner – 12 Places – Viktor Hovland (each-way)
Two-time winner Justin Thomas and defending champion Xander Schauffele both broke their major duck at the PGA Championship. While their recent form makes them tempting prospects, I’d rather take a bigger price on another potential first-time major winner in Viktor Hovland.
The Norwegian finished just two strokes behind course specialist McIlroy on his Quail Hollow debut in 2021, leveraging his off-the-tee prowess and stunning long-iron play.
Hovland has been far from consistent over the last year, though his ball striking has been much steadier since the Valspar Championship triumph.
His weakness around the greens should not matter so much this week. Three of the last five winners at this venue have ranked 39th or worse in that category.
Top 20 Finish (Inc. Ties) – Keith Mitchell
If you include the Zurich Classic pairs event, Keith Mitchell has posted five consecutive top-20 finishes on the PGA Tour.
One of those was a top-five, another a top-10, and the 33-year-old could have gotten into the winner’s circle this season were it not for his weekend struggles, especially on the greens.
Still, it’s an impressive run from the American, and he has proven to be relatively course-proof.
Quail Hollow could not be more suitable for him. Driving distance is a must-have, and few can hit it further than Mitchell, who has a T3 and a T8 to his name in Charlotte.
Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm & Xander Schauffele all to Finish in the Top 20 (Inc. Ties)
Bryson DeChambeau has become so reliable in majors that, even if you’re hesitant to back him outright, it makes plenty of sense to have him onside in alternative markets.
Xander Schauffele was runner-up on each of his last two visits to Quail Hollow, it’s hard to find a reason to oppose the Californian. I’m not backing him to win because he hasn’t seriously contended all year.
Jon Rahm has the talent to make his outright odds look silly, but he falls short of victory in LIV Golf events too often for me to take a full leap of faith.
Rory McIlroy & Bryson DeChambeau both to Finish in the Top 5 (Inc. Ties)
Top five in three of his last four majors and T6 in the one before that, Bryson DeChambeau can keep up that remarkable record at a bomber’s paradise.
He and Rory McIlroy contested last year’s US Open in one of the most dramatic finishes to a major in recent memory. The rivalry was renewed as they went out as the final pairing at the Masters last month, and something similar could be on the cards over the coming days.
McIlroy did not play particularly well at the Truist Championship and delivered a T7. Whether through the back door or in another battle for victory, a top-five is well within reach at a course tailor-made for him.

Back Joaquin Niemann for top 10 finish
The most reliable claims for a Top 10 come from defending champion Xander Schauffele.
He's finished second the last two times he's played Quail Hollow, is getting back into a groove again and over his career has a Top 10 record in the Majors over 50% (16 from 31).
Back Bryson DeChambeau for top 5 finish
DeChambeau was winless in 2025 when teeing it up at Augusta. He almost ended the mini-drought with victory at the US Masters itself but drifted back to fifth after briefly leading in the final round.
Since then he's really come alive on the LIV Tour, finishing runner-up in Mexico and then posting a 'W' in Korea where all parts of his game looked good.
Lengthy US PGA courses are right in DeChambeau's wheelhouse and in his last four starts in the year's second Major he's had a pair of fourths and a second place 12 months ago.

Bryson Dechambeau WIN
Dechambeau has been an expert at these long and tough US layouts for a few years now and his recent form certainly rivals the two at the top.
Bryson's first Major victory came at a monster Winged Foot layout and numerous solid efforts have followed. 4th at Oak Hill and runner up at Valhalla both arrived before his victory at Pinehurst and if ever there was a sign of how versatile a golfer he is that US Open win last year was it.
5th and 6th at the last two Masters and we clearly have someone here who is in the mould of Brooks Koepka and able to compete and win at multiple Major layouts.
Bryson could easily surpass Koepka's total and it's on these types of courses where he will win if he is to do so. Korea may not be the perfect preparation for this event, but his effort there was certainly eye catching.
Viktor Hovland at 50/1 (Seven Places)
Viktor Hovland has been on somewhat of a rollercoaster this year but what is clear is that he can't be too far away from his best. It was only six weeks ago he came and pipped Justin Thomas at Copperhead for his first victory in around 18 months.
Since then he finished a very respectable 21st at the Masters whilst 13th at Harbour Town can be considered a success also given it's not a very driver heavy golf course.
Hovland for the most part in Major Championships performs well in approach play. PGA set ups look perfect for him as evident by his last two efforts finishing 3rd at Valhalla and 2nd at Oak Hill.
His last eight rounds at the PGA read 68-66-66-66-68-67-70-68. A nine time PGA Tour winner since the year 2020 is sitting at 45/1+ for this years PGA and for me it's the bet of the week at the prices.

Bryson DeChambeau - e/w
This could not be an easier pick. Bryson’s form in US-based majors is ridiculous right now, as he has finished 6th, 2nd, 1st, and 5th in his last four at home. That 2nd came in this event last year, and he has since added a second US Open win, and a career-best finish at Augusta.
Since that disappointing final round at the Masters, Bryson has finished 2nd at LIV Golf Mexico and won last time out at LIV Golf Korea, and there really is no reason to think he cannot contend for another major again this week.
Shane Lowry - e/w
The Irishman gifted the Truist Championship to Ryder Cup teammate, Sepp Straka but it was his second runner-up finish in a Signature Event this year, having finished in the same spot behind Rory McIlroy at Pebble Beach.
Lowry finished 7th at the Arnold Palmer, where he was the 36-hole leader, and its these consistent performances among the world’s best that have put me back onto him for a second major in a row.
Lowry was also going well at Augusta again, sitting inside the top 6 going into Sunday, but a brutal final round saw him fall to 42nd. And while that isn’t ideal, it’s probably an unfair blight on what is otherwise a really strong run of form.
Since the Masters, Lowry has finished 18th at the Heritage, played solidly with Rory at the Zurich, and then finished runner-up this past weekend, so there’s really no need to question his current form.
Justin Rose - e/w
Rose has now finished 6th or better in three of his past four majors, dating back to this event last year. In the end, Rose came up well short of Xander Schauffele’s winning total.
But after three rounds the Englishman was just three shots back after a blazing round of 64.
Since 2020, Rose has finished inside the top 10 in four of his five PGA Championship starts, and the one time he didn’t he finished 13th. Two more top 5s in 2012 and 2015 bolster this impressive record, and while his only missed cut since finishing 3rd in 2012 came at this course in 2017.
