Carlos Alcaraz of Spain during the French Open at Roland Garros

It’s day ten at the French Open as the quarter-finals get underway in Paris. Here, we take a closer look at Tuesday’s action.

We are approaching the business end of Roland Garros and there is certainly a lot to look forward to.

Tuesday offers a tasty quarter-final line-up, including Carlos Alcaraz and his head-to-head encounter with Tommy Paul.

The Spaniard is yet to play his best tennis, but as tournament favourite the pressure is on to continue his winning run.

The second match in the men’s draw sees Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti take on a somewhat fortunate Frances Tiafoe.

Aryna Sabalenka – favourite in the women’s draw – is also in action as the Belarusian prepares to take on Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng.

Lastly, there’s a potential classic on the cards as comeback queens Elina Svitolina and Iga Swiatek square off on the main court.

Here’s a closer look at the pick of the action on day nine of the French Open, including a look at some of the best bets.

Svitolina v Swiatek over 2.5 sets – 9/5

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

(All odds are correct at time of article publication)

Lorenzo Musetti v Frances Tiafoe

Musetti entered this year’s French Open with serious form under his belt, and he has certainly taken that form into the grand slam.

Musetti powered into the fourth-round before smashing Holger Rune – a former two -time quarter-finalist – over four sets.

Tiafoe, on the hand, has been somewhat fortunate. The American has enjoyed a favourable draw and hasn’t been tested by a higher-ranked player.

Three of his four opponents have been outside of the top 50 and the fourth was an out-of-form Sebastian Korda.

Tiafoe may lead the head-to-head with Musetti, but with the Italian in far better form at the moment, we’re backing him to seal his spot in the semi-final.

TIP: Musetti to win

Tommy Paul v Carlos Alcaraz

Paul may not be firing on all cylinders at the moment, but his determination to grind out results against lower-ranked opponents has earned him this quarter-final opportunity.

Trouble is, grinding may not be enough against a high-quality operator like Alcaraz. On the contrary, Paul will need to put in one of his career best performances to get through the Spaniard.

Alcaraz is yet to get out of second gear at this year’s French Open, yet he hasn’t experienced any problems.

The world number two boasts a sensational 19-1 record on clay this season and we’re backing the Spaniard to build on it.

TIP: Alcaraz to win 3-1

Aryna Sabalenka v Qinwen Zheng

Four wins from four, eight sets won and none conceded. Everything has gone according to plan for Sabalenka so far at the French Open.

The Belarusian is setting sights on her first Roland Garros crown and with a 38-6 season record, she will certainly fancy her chances.

The 27-year-old has won six titles across the last 12 months and needs just one more win to mark her 17th victory on clay this season – it would be her new personal record on the surface.

Zheng will be looking to stop her after reaching her maiden French Open quarter-final.

The Chinese player knows these courts very well having won Olympic gold in Paris last August. However, her 1-6 record against Sabalenka doesn’t fill us with confidence.

TIP: Sabalenka to win 2-1

Elina Svitolina v Iga Swiatek

One of the tastiest quarter-finals on day ten sees Svitolina and Swiatek go head-to-head on Philippe-Chatrier.

Swiatek wobbled in the first-half of her fourth-round match with Elena Rybakina, producing 27 unforced errors in the first nine games and going 1-6, 0-2 behind.

The Pole somehow shook off her poor start and went on to produce an epic 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 comeback.

Svitolina was also on the brink of defeat when she took on last year’s finalist Jasime Paolini in her fourth-round clash.

The Ukrainian saved three match points to avoid a straight sets defeat and miraculously came back to win in two and a half hours.

With both players in unpredictable form, we should be in for an absolute classic in this quarter-final.

TIP: Over 2.5 sets - 9/5
