Iga Swiatek in action at the French Open

We’re only on day four, yet the legendary court Philippe-Chatrier is preparing to host a titanic tussle in the women’s draw at the French Open.

Four-time Roland Garros champion Iga Swiatek has endured a tricky run of form, failing to win any of the tune-up tournaments.

Nevertheless, the Pole loves to compete in Paris having won 36 of 38 matches at this grand slam. She will be looking to continue that run when Britain’s Emma Raducanu stands on the opposite end of the court.

The former US Open champion is still trying to rediscover her best form, but considering her giant profile in the sport, expect to see plenty of eyeballs on this titanic second round tussle.

Over in the men’s draw, tournament favourite Carlos Alcaraz takes on Fabian Marozsan in his second-round match.

The Spaniard has won 16 of his 17 games on clay this year, picking up two titles at the Monte Carlo and Rome Masters. In fact, his sole defeat came as a result of an injury against Holder Rune in Barcelona.

The likes of Casper Ruud and Aryna Sabalenka are also in action on what promises to be a tasty fourth day of action in Paris.

Here, we take a closer look at some of the best upcoming matches and pick out some of the best bets along the way.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

French Open day four – 5/1 bet builder

Swiatek to beat Raducanu – 1/10

Marozsan v Alcaraz over 3.5 sets – 8/5

Sabalenka to beat Teichmann 2-0 – 2/25

Ruud to beat Borges – 7/100

Emma Raducanu v Iga Swiatek

Swiatek is often seen as a female equivalent of Rafael Nadal when it comes to her record at Roland Garros. With four French Open titles in five years under her belt, the Pole certainly feels at home on the Parisian courts.

Despite Swiatek’s poor form leading up to this year’s tournament, the fifth seed simply cannot be underestimated – something underlined by her first-round demolition of Rebecca Sramkova.

Raducanu knows all too well about Swiatek’s qualities having lost all four previous meetings to nil. In fact, the Brit only managed to win one game during her last encounter with the Pole at the Australian Open.

While we are expecting Raducanu to win a few more games on this occasion, we’re siding with Swiatek to get the win and continue her march towards a fifth French Open crown.

TIP: Swiatek to win - 1/10

Fabian Marozsan v Carlos Alcaraz

Defending French Open champion Alcaraz and Fabian Marozsan are certainly no strangers. The Hungarian made his tour-level main draw bow at the 2023 Roma Masters and marked it with a third-round victory over Alcaraz – a result which catapulted the 25-year-old’s career forward.

Marozsan boasts a decent 6-8 record against players in the top 10 and will be looking to spring the surprise of the tournament when he meets the second seed.

Alcaraz should have enough quality to see off his challenger, especially in a best-of-five sets match. However, we are backing to Hungarian to get at least one set on the board in what is shaping up to be a juicy encounter in the men’s draw.

TIP: Over 3.5 sets – 8/5

Aryna Sabalenka v Jil Teichmann

Sabalenka certainly made a bright start in the pursuit of that elusive first French Open title, beating Kamilla Rakhimova 6-1 6-0 in the opening round.

With Swiatek in mixed form, this is arguably Sabalenka’s best shot at Roland Garros gold, and she will be looking to continue her dominant start against Jil Teichmann in the second round.

While the Swiss player has recently crept back in the top 100, her recent form isn’t convincing. These waters may be a tad too deep for the 27-year-old as she prepares to take on the top seed.

TIP: Sabalenka to win 2-0 – 2/25

Casper Ruud v Nuno Borges

Lastly, we head to Suzanne-Lenglen as Ruud looks to back up his impressive first round performance against Nuno Borges.

The Norwegian boasts one of the best win percentages on the tour this season, claiming last month’s Madrid Masters along the way.

The 26-year-old is a two-time finalist at Roland Garros and knows how to forge his way forward at this event. We’re backing Ruud to forge his way past Borges on day four in Paris.

TIP: Ruud to win – 7/100
