Serbia's Novak Djokovic celebrates at the French Open

Things are heating up in Paris as the final quarter-final games take centre stage on day 11 of the French Open.

From a heavyweight showdown in the men’s draw to a Cinderella story in the women’s, there is certainly no shortage of talking points as we approach the business end of the tournament.

The heavyweight showdown we’re talking about is the juicy quarter-final clash between Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev.

There’s a lot of history between both men and there’s certainly a lot at stake as we head into the business end of the tournament.

One man who continues to impress is Jannik Sinner. The world number one is making easy work of this year’s French Open and he will be looking to continue that sentiment when he takes on Alexander Bublik.

Over in the women’s draw, Lois Boisson will be looking to keep her fairytale story going. The world number 361 takes on Mirra Andreeva for a spot in the semi-final.

Here’s a closer look at the pick of the action on day 11 of the French Open, including a look at some of the best bets.

Alexander Zverev v Novak Djokovic

Zverev and Djokovic will meet for the first time since their Australian Open semi-final – a match which ended with the Serb retiring after the first set.

The mental and physical endurance required for winning grand slams is beginning to take its toll on Djokovic who, at 38-years-old, is still giving the young guns a run for their money.

The three-time French Open champion is chasing a record-extending 25th grand slam win, and he is certainly giving it a good go in Paris. Djokovic is yet to drop a set, meaning he will be relatively fresh for Wednesday’s tussle with Zverev.

Speaking of the German, he will also feel well rested after his opponent in the previous match retired halfway through the second set.

This will be Zverev’s fifth straight quarter-final appearance at Roland Garros, though he is yet to win the trophy. The 28-year-old came within one set of glory against Carlos Alcaraz last year, and he will be determined to go one step further this time round.

TIP: Over 3.5 sets

Jannik Sinner v Alexander Bublik

Things are really beginning to look good for world number one Sinner. The Italian is making easy work of this tournament, going through his opponents like a butcher’s knife through warm butter.

Sinner dropped just seven games against Richard Gasquet in the second round, three against Jiri Lehecka in the third and eight against Adrey Rublev last time out.

Bublik could offer more resistance, depending on what mindset the Kazakh turns up with. The 27-year-old is outspoken about his mentality in the sport, insisting that while he does work out, he doesn’t quite have that obsessive killer drive possessed by others in the sport.

Nevertheless, Bublik is enjoying a good run of form and has displayed glimpses of world class tennis throughout the tournament.

While the Kazakh is not a great fan of clay courts, this is by far his best season on the surface having already won 15 games on clay in 2025.

Bearing all that in mind, all signs point to a tasty encounter.

TIP: Over 3.5 sets

Mirra Andreeva v Lois Boisson

As the world number 361, Boisson’s run at the French Open is really the stuff of fairytales.

The Frenchwoman has become the lowest ranked quarter-finalist at Roland Garros in 40 years, and it doesn’t appear that she’s done yet.

Having stunned Jessica Pegula in the previous round, the fan favourite will now turn her attention to world number six Andreeva.

The Russian has stormed into this stage of the French Open, losing just one set along the way.

Andreeva is looking to reach her second semi-final at Roland Garros, which would make the 18-year-old the youngest back-to-back semi-finalist at the event since Martina Hingis in the late 90s.

TIP: Over 2.5 sets
